BP Batam Revised 8 Old Policies

     The Riau Islands Province Chamber of Commerce and Industry appreciates the communicative and responsive steps of the new Chairman of Badan Pengusahaan Batam (BP Batam), Lukita Dinarsyah Tuwo, who in a short time has designed communication with a series of stakeholders in Batam, especially businessmen in Batam.

     Lukita, accompanied by Deputy for Planning and Development, Yusmar Anggadinata, and Deputy for Business Facilities and Asset Management, Dwianto Eko Winaryo on 8 November 2017, said a meeting is planned in order to get input from all stakeholders without exception for moving and stimulating investment activities in Batam. As of the growth of Batam which receding can be re-sped as the target set by BP Batam of how to build together the economic area of Batam to increase 7 percent in 2 years.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         

     In designing short-term (Quick Win 100 days) and long-term (over 2-year target) efforts, Lukita focus on how to form a good investment fund that encourages business activities to grow. In these meetings, he wants to know what are the complaints and inputs of all businessmen. From a number of meetings that have taken place including meetings with REI Batam, HKI, and Ports some time ago, Lukita and the deputies have designed some steps called Quick Win 100 working days. The steps are:

  1.   Land-related land use PERKA revision, Annual Mandatory Money (Uang Wajib Tahunan, UWT) and Port.                                                                                 
  2.   Settlement of land licensing and land disposal issues                                                                                                                                              
  3.   Acceleration of business service and the launch of Public Service Mall.                                                                                                                       
  4.   Improved communication with stakeholders in Batam.                                                                                                                                                           
  5.   The launch of the long-term Master Plan.                                                                                                                                                                     
  6.   Handling of land-related social issues.                                                                                                                                                                             
  7.   Draft of reorganization of BP Batam, Review / revision of service tariff of BP Batam (airport tariff)                                                                              
  8.   Periodic implementation of international and national events and preparation of SEZ formation.

     In this context, to achieved all those steps BP Batam need helps from all stakeholders by joining hands and be partners to jointly promote the interest of society and business interest. With that, BP Batam is optimistic that a 7 percent economy growth can be obtained within 2 years.
